Candidate Eligibility & Policies
Career placement candidates must be at least in their senior year of high school up to twenty five years of age. High school students in eleventh grade or below are welcome to participate in our mentorship program and attend monthly meetings, but are not yet eligible for career placement.
All senior candidates must hold a part-time job by November of their senior year in order to begin acquiring the basic skills necessary for more established careers. If a student does not have a part-time job by November of their senior year, we can help with job placement.
Part-time jobs can include but are not limited to work in; restaurants, grocery stores, warehouses, pharmacies, salons, etc.
Throughout the course of their senior year, candidates will work on building work ethic and the interpersonal skills necessary to obtain three letters of reference from mentors, teachers, or employers detailing their level of hard work and commitment. These will become useful for helping them build their resumes.
Upon the completion of senior year, candidates will be introduced to business leaders in the industry of their choice.
If a candidate does not feel the industry or company they chose is the proper placement, they will be afforded the opportunity to try up to three different industries or companies in order to find the best fit for their skills and interests.
Ongoing check-ins will be conducted to collect feedback about candidates’ development in order to ensure continued growth. Additional grants and incentives may be awarded to candidates who achieve special recognition and/or career milestones based on their employer’s reports.
